ATEX

ATEX

ATEX, originating from the French ATmosphères EXplosibles, is used as the name for two European directives for the risk of explosion under atmospheric conditions.

In environments with an increased risk of an explosion, it is vital that the right materials are used. After all, the usage of electric motors and other static materials can cause electrical voltages, which could lead to an explosion.

Our ATEX solutions

Equipment and products that are used in an ATEX zone must comply with the ATEX guideline 114, including the high-speed doors. An ATEX series has also been developed within the Dynaco speed doors for this purpose.

This ATEX Dynaco high-speed door is especially suitable for zones with an increased risk of explosions. These doors are suitable for areas with an ATEX classification in zone 1 and 2 for gasses and zone 21 and 22 for dust. In technical terms, these doors are suitable for zones: Ex II 2GD IIC T4, IIIB 135°C and Ex II 3GD IIC T4, IIIB 135°C.

Everything has been taken into account in the design of these ATEX high-speed doors. The metal parts consist of high-quality stainless steel and the door curtain, and all non-metal parts, are made of antistatic material. Due to this combination of factors, a Dynaco ATEX high speed door will not generate electrical voltages.

Every door is assessed and certified according to European Notified Body standards. When installing an ATEX door, the customer receives an official conformity assessment, linked to a serial number, which provides assurance that the ATEX door fully complies with the indicated ATEX conditions.

Despite the use of these materials compared to the standard Dynaco doors, an ATEX door has the same typical advantages of a Dynaco high-speed door; a short opening and closing cycle, a very high degree of sealing around the entire perimeter of the door and a self-reintroducing door curtain. This reduces energy consumption while the flow of the production process can continue to run unimpeded and quickly.
