What does a firescreen offer?
Fire roller screens have only one, but extremely important, purpose. Increasing fire safety within your company. The VLP firescreens are made of a non-combustible glass fabric cloth that runs through side guides by means of a gravity roller system. These fire-resistant roller screens are used in almost every building. Think, for example, of shops, business premises and factories. The VLP fire-resistant roller screens will close automatically in the event of a fire to compartmentalise the spaces. This makes the fire less likely to spread.
The degree of fire resistance is indicated by various classifications. The fire resistance of a VLP fire roller screen is no less than 60 minutes as standard, class EW 60 according to EN 16034. However, you must, in cooperation with a contractor, ensure that a fire-retardant mounting surface is available.
The door curtain
The door curtain of a firescreen is made from non-combustible coated glass fabric. This curtain runs through guides on both sides of the fire roller screen that are provided with material that intumescent when heated.
A fire-resistant roller screen is equipped with a tubular motor that closes in the event of a fire signal by the existing fire alarm control panel or the optionally mounted smoke detectors. This closing is done by means of a gravitational roller system which means that the screen will also close in the event of a power failure. Optionally an emergency battery can be added. Doing so will allow the fire roller screen to function even in the event of a power outage.
